Dragons, unicorns, and sphyxnes - oh my.

A mythical beast is a creature from lore, the ones of myths and legends, and the great terrors - or holy omens - of the past.

Specific mythical figures such as Fenris and Medusa cannot be apped. Creatures such as minotaurs, gorgons, griffons, mermaids, and the like can be though.

These creatures are incredibly rare. Because of this only one of each specific beast can be apped (and please refer to the mythical beast claim list to see what creatures have been claimed). No living hunter or human would have ever encountered one as well.

Several creatures, such as dragons, wyverns, and worms, are similar. Staff will allow them to be apped as long as players can make them each unique and not simple copies of each other.

Any mythical beast apped currently must be a member of the circus.

Starting base cost - $5000.


Their abilities would be based on what creature they are. The only ability that every mythical beast would have for sure is the ability to shift into a human form.

One thing that should be detailed is any weaknesses the creature has. Every mythical creature does need a weakness, though this can be something obscure and extremely unknown. It should also be based around some form of mythology around them. If they have any special properties to their body - magical blood, hair, etc., - please detail that as well.


Their alliance would be dependent on what mythical creature they are.

During the Benefactor plot this site will operate on an Open Thread policy. This means that every thread, at any time, is open. Anyone can join and post regardless of whether or not they are tagged.

There are rules to this or else the site would descend into utter chaos. To start with, any thread set in the residencies board is safe from being joined. After all, you can't just waltz into someone's house uninvited. The caveat to this is that a thread must actually be occurring at the residency. If a thread naturally progresses from someone's house to another location please alert staff so it can be moved and, as such, opened to be joined (inevitably we'll find out anyways and it's far better to not try to hide this from us).

The exception to this is if your character is on the active Deadpool List. No where will be safe then.

Once a thread is crashed the original members of the thread must be given a chance to reply, which means that more than one character cannot join at once. Only two characters may crash a thread as well.

Secondly, if you are crashing a thread you are expected to not hold said thread up. You will have 48 hours once your turn hits to post. Failing to post means you will be skipped and essentially ejected from the thread. This can be especially dangerous if you are actively attempting to hunt a character as staff also holds the right to post for you.

We caution members to remember that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. If you aren't intending to join a thread for hunting purposes we always recommend speaking with the other thread participants before joining.

The Deadpool is a list of individuals, both with supernatural origins or involvement, compiled by a mysterious party known only as the Benefactor. Every name on the list is assigned a bounty that will be rewarded to their killer - if proof of their death is supplied, of course. Just like in Teen Wolf, the list is updated periodically to reflect deaths and arrivals into the town.

There are a couple differences from the show's deadpool as well. To start off with, only one list is active at a time. Each list will contain the names of roughly five characters currently in play. Staff will update the lists once we determine that an appropriate amount of time has passed. If your character is on the current deadpool, and they survive an attempt on their life, that character is considered "safe". Their name will be "greyed out" on the current deadpool, meaning that they will no longer be a potential target, and their name will not appear on the next deadpool. However, after that they may be placed on the following list(s).

Being on the deadpool has several implications for your character. The first and foremost means that your character will not be safe no matter where their threads take place. Residencies will no longer be safe harbors for them - people can break into homes just an easily as anywhere else. Every thread has the possibility of being crashed. Please refer to the thread crashing guide for more detail, but the gist of it is that characters who intend on hunting your character can join in any thread without being invited.

If your character is on the deadpool then you must have an active thread. Avoiding threading with a character on the list will result in staff starting a thread for you. You do not want this. We will not be kind with these starters.

The possibility of death is a real one for any character on this list. Can dead characters be revived? Well... maybe. We fully understand any members reluctance to have a character die, so we do have a method in mind to bring them back. However, this method will not be usable until the deadpool plot is finished. Any character killed during the deadpool will stay dead until the end of it, and cannot come back until it's over. So keep that in mind.

I know the question burning in all your minds: will you be warned when your character is added to the Deadpool? The short answer is no, you won't.

But-! That doesn't mean you can't access the Deadpool and look for yourself. The Deadpool will be found on this board. However, in the spirit of keeping things similar to the show, the board will be password protected. A hint will be posted in the Dead Pool Riddles board, and you have as many guesses as you like. But keep in mind that every time the Deadpool updates, the password will be changed too.

Now as staff, we know there's nothing stopping you from telling everyone the password once you figure it out, or even working in teams to crack the code. In the spirit of keeping the roleplay fun, though, we suggest only sharing information in an IC manner. For example, if the player of Stiles cracks the code, it would make sense for him to tell Scott or Derek what the password is and who's on the list. Of course, there's no way for us to regulate this, so it's ultimately up to you to decide what course you take, but we'd hope that you would participate in a manner that makes it fun and challenging for everyone.
